About Search Marquette
What's Search Marquette?
Search Marquette helps website visitors find specific content. Website visitors go to marquette.edu/search/. If the visitor is on the campus network or using VPN, marquette.edu/ca/search/ loads and includes internal content results.
Using Search Marquette
- Use the "filter by type" drop-down menu to filter by file type: webpage, PDF, PowerPoint, Word document, or Excel spreadsheet.
- Use the "filter by site" drop-down menu to filter by university website, such as techsquad.mu.edu.
- If using Campus Access search, you can omit internal results. Select the "Hide campus-access-only results" checkbox.
- To find a phrase, enter quotation marks around the phrase. For example, use "Be The Difference" as a keyword.
- Use a plus sign on a keyword for the "AND" operator. For example, enter "Apple +fruit" to limit the scope to Apple search results with the word "fruit" in the content.
- Use a hyphen on a keyword for the "NOT" operator. For example, enter "Mac -cheese" to limit the scope to Mac search results without the word "cheese" in the content.
Troubleshooting
- The more keywords you enter, the narrower your results will be. To get more results, use fewer keywords.
- If you add a space in front of the hyphen for your keywords ("Apple - fruit"), no results will appear.
