Approved Standard Computer Configuration List - IT Services manages a register of approved computer specifications, makes, and models for which faculty and staff can choose as part of the CRP.

BitLocker - Windows BitLocker is a security feature that provides encryption for entire volumes, addressing the threats of data theft or exposure from lost, stolen, or inappropriately decommissioned devices.

Computer Replacement Program (CRP) - Marquette's mechanism to manage the computer lifecycle of eligible computers. IT Services manages CRP and is available to Marquette faculty and staff.

CRP Champion - an individual(s) from each college or department who works with IT Services to plan and implement the CRP program for their area.

Firewall - Windows Firewall is a security feature that helps to protect your device by filtering network traffic that enters and exits your device.

Information Technology Services (IT Services, ITS) - The official IT service provider and partner for technology needs and initiatives to enhance learning at Marquette University.

IT Asset Management Administrator - is responsible for the lifecycle process of MU end-user hardware and desktop applications from Procurement to disposal.

IT Services TechSquad - MU's single point of contact for IT Support issues and requests.

Lifecycle Management - is the management of university IT computer and desktop software assets through their useful life, which starts with acquisition and ends with disposal.

Machine Risk Score - Is a measure of the likelihood that the device used to conduct a transaction or access a service is compromised or fraudulent. The machine risk score is based on various factors such as the device's IP address, geolocation, device ID, and device fingerprint. The machine risk level can be low, medium, or high, where higher levels indicate higher risk.

Neural Processing Unit (NPU) - a chip that speeds up AI and machine learning tasks. It helps your computer run more innovative features faster and more efficiently than regular processors.

Quality Standards and Compliance Review - This review ensures that the hardware requested meets the needs of the identified special condition and the requirements for enterprise security and data management.

Real-time Protection - Windows Security continually scans for malware (Malicious software), viruses, and security threats. In addition to this real-time protection, updates are downloaded automatically to help keep your device safe and protect it from threats.

Secure Boot - Windows Secure Boot helps prevent malware and corrupted components from loading when a Windows 10 or 11 device is starting.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM) - Is used to improve the security of your PC. It's used by services like BitLocker drive encryption, Windows Hello, and others, to securely create and store cryptographic keys, and to confirm that the operating system and firmware on your device are what they're supposed to be, and haven't been tampered with.
