Installing Faculty_Staff_PrintWise on macOS

Faculty and staff using Marquette-issued devices should see the Faculty_Staff_PrintWise driver automatically installed. The instructions below are available for non-Marquette-issued macOS devices or for troubleshooting purposes.

Reminder! You might not need to install a driver to print. See Easiest way to print: PrintWise@marquette.edu to learn more.

Note your device must use MU Secure Wi-Fi, the wired network, or VPN to successfully install the Faculty_Staff_PrintWise driver.

macOS: Installing PrintWise for Faculty and Staff

This software requires macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later.

If you have a Marquette-issued Mac, view these instructions to see if you already have the Faculty_Staff_PrintWise installer on your Mac. Otherwise, follow the instructions below.

Click this link to download the macOS Canon Driver Installation File.
Open the Downloads folder. Look for the "ps-v4-17-17-mac.dmg" file. If the file is zipped, double-click to unzip it. Then double-click ps-v4-17-17-mac.dmg to open.
Find the Canon_PS_Installer.pkg and double-click to install.
The driver installs. From the Apple menu, select System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer.
In the Add Printer window, select the IP icon.

If this IP icon is missing, follow the bulleted steps below. Otherwise, proceed to step 6.
- Control-click the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
- Drag the IP icon to the toolbar. Select Done.
- Within the toolbar, select IP and proceed to Step 6.
Fill in the following:
- Address: v-uflrpprd1
- Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
- Queue: Faculty_Staff_PrintWise_Internal
- Name: Faculty_Staff_PrintWise
- Use: Select Software…
In the search filter, type C5860
Select Canon iR-ADV C5860/5870 PS. Click OK.
Confirm your settings. Click Add.
Within Printers & Scanners, click on the Faculty_Staff_PrintWise queue.
Select Options & Supplies
Select the Options tab.
Set the following finishing options:
- Paper Source Options: Cassette Feeding Unit AQ1
- Output Options: Booklet Finisher AB1
- Puncher: 2/3 Holes
Click OK.
You're set up to use PrintWise.
