Set Up Mail App for iPhone or iPad
Use these instructions to set up the Mail app on an iPhone or iPad.
- Open the Settings menu on the Apple mobile device.
- Scroll to the Mail category, followed by Accounts.
- Tap Add Account and select Microsoft Exchange (not Outlook.com) as the type of account.
- Enter your email address as firstname.lastname@marquette.edu (example: jacques.marquette@marquette.edu)
Make sure your email address ends in @marquette.edu — and not @mu.edu.
- For the "Description" field, if you want, change the description to "Marquette" or "MU."
- In the upper right, tap Next. Your iPhone or iPad will prompt you for either Configure Manually or Sign In. Tap Sign In.
- You will see a password prompt with the Marquette University logo. Enter your password and tap Sign In.
- The Mail app will verify your email address and password. If you entered your information correctly, you are prompted to select which items you want to access from your device: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders and Notes. Mail is chosen by default. Select others as you like.
- In the upper right, tap Save.
- Your Marquette inbox appears, and your email messages will load shortly. Your recent Marquette email will sync. If you have not received any email recently, no messages will appear in your Inbox. Try sending an email to yourself to have a message in your Inbox. Mail app set up is done.
